Our Mission is to increase the availability of high quality affordable housing through the development of single-family homes rescued from demolition and fully rehabilitated, integrating green building and renewable energy strategies and tying in with community programs that offer free healthcare, donated cars, and computers for every household, while providing whole-life enrichment programs for onsite labor positions through the offering of job training and mentor opportunities for individuals experiencing homelessness and chronic unemployment including At-Risk youth.
Builders of Hope is a non-profit organization that facilitates partnerships between business community, humanitarian organizations and local government entities to create home ownership, education and career opportunities for
working families whose income falls below the median, including many public employees, teachers and technical workers who work within the city limits.
Builders of Hope aims to make the community stronger by enabling a new segment of the population to own and have equity in a home, contribute to the local economy, educate their children and save for retirement. Additionally, Builders of Hope plans to focus efforts in areas that are both conveniently located and designated for economic improvement.
Through Builders of Hope, the business community has the opportunity to make charitable contributions of their products or services, which in turn decreases the overall costs of construction and development. This cost savings will enable Builders of Hope to sell the homes substantially below market value, providing qualified buyers—those meeting the City of Raleigh guidelines for affordable housing income levels, a high quality, affordable home in an exceptional community.
